11-02-2014 Letter on Reflecting the Journey of a Pregnancy

Dear Editor:

What a great prolife story! It was more than beautiful! Jessica instinctively realizes that the imperfections of a pregnancy are secondary to the “cause” and the “right” of the new life she’s bringing into the world! She says clearly that it was a lesson on the dangers of self-absorption, or in believing everything you see in a magazine, or whatever! Jessica has conveyed the greatest prolife message I’ve ever seen in the Orange County Register!

God (nature) made pregnant women so beautiful and so capable when he chose them as co-creators of new life; he also had to make them the superior sex and gave them a greater strength of character. Her great power is God centered. She is the stabilizer of humanity who determines, by her actions, and her responsible duty that the new life in her womb has inviolable rights! She reinforces the dignity, the goodness, and majesty of motherhood!

It’s obvious that the Orange County Register is pro-choice but we’re thankful for Jessica’s story because it will give a positive nudge toward protecting life in the womb; it explicitly reveals the beauty of a pregnancy and the realization that a mother has the responsibility to welcome and protect what she and her husband knew was/is beautiful!

Our instincts tell us that abortion is unnatural; now the sciences, experience and common sense tell us that to be pro-choice is irrational! Very soon the Orange County Register will find itself on the wrong side of the pro-life/pro-choice issue! Newspapers are losing ground because they allow themselves to be Politically Correct on the divisive issues despite the fact that these issues are fundamental to maintaining integrity in the art and craft of professional journalism; they should set the moral compass toward toward America’s goodness!

Politically Correct newspapers are an assist to the growth of the internet; they force us to search the internet for the fullness of the truth! Without truth there’s no knowing! Veritas numquam perit (the truth never dies)!

If I was the owner of the Orange County Register the first thing I’d do is add a prolife writer to my staff! As Mother Teresa reminds us; “if a mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?”

Prayers for our preborn American citizens,

Charles N. Marrelli
