12-02-2014 Letter to Editors on their Duty to Report the Facts

Dear Editors:

After reading your OPINION section this last Sunday, this long time subscriber got the impression that you were verging on the border of becoming true journalists by taking on the social issues—Children for Sale, Sex-Trafficking, Marriage. Immigration, etc. All of which helps to alert and inform your readers to act responsibly in our fight to achieve, and maintain, the Common Good.

What I find astounding is the Orange County Register’s deliberate omission of the bloodiest and the most divisive social issue fomenting in our country today—abortion on demand!

It’s your duty to report the fact that our nation is committing social suicide! We are killing our pre-born American citizens every single day and you virtually ignore the hideous fact that their blood spills into our American soil, and their remains are treated as trash!

It’s also your duty to explore and report on the 1973 Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions which were a travesty of justice! An incoherent, contradictory, U. S. Supreme Court decreed that a pre-born baby was not a “person” even one split-second before he or she is born! What could be more of a lie?

If you are to be consistent on the important social issues you’ll report all the facts on abortion, and its murderous consequences! The Register’s opinion that abortion is a very divisive topic that leads to many ugly back and forth comments, and that some readers would be extremely offended by facing the ugliness of “how” human beings are slaughtered, is an evasion of your responsibility to print the TRUTH!

When a newspaper ignores the continued slaughter of human life and its devastating effect on our country, it not only betrays its duty to our country, it becomes party to the devastation!

POPE SAINT FELIX III said it best! “Not to oppose error is to approve it; and not to defend truth is to suppress it; and indeed to neglect to confound evil men, when we can do it, is no less a sin than to encourage them.”

Prayers for our pre-born American citizens,

Charles N. Marrelli
